Blackbird Fly

I remember you falling on the rocks that day. I laughed in satisfaction, because it was good to see you so vulnerable for once. I fell in the woods and slid down the hill in the mud that day. I laughed at myself. Those epic tumbles turned out to be symbolic of our entire relationship. I had brand new clothes. White clothes. It poured and we still went for a hike. I slid and fell, dirtying my clean clothes in the slick mud…revealing my true nature… symbolizing the unraveling you did to my soul. My fall symbolized the beginning, while yours represented the end. It was a close call, those ten years. I thank my lucky stars that we got through it, and left it as a mere memory … to fade in time.

BLACKBIRD – The Beatles

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

Black bird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
all your life
you were only waiting for this moment to be free

Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.

All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
