The Faith You Placed On My Pedestal

I fell asleep under your promises made before the moon;

the faith you placed on my pedestal, but took away too soon.

I’ll never know which way the wind blows in your fire;

the embers glow and extinguish on either end, making you the liar.

I woke up under your stories read before the sun;

the faith you placed on my pedestal, but stole and said you won.

I’ll never know which way the wind blows through your field;

the flowers bend at every turn and the trees stand to be healed.

I walked under your wishes scattered amongst the stars;

the faith you placed on my pedestal, deepening every scar.

I’ll never know which way the wind blows in your skies;

the glitter and the bloodshed tell of one who lies.
