This is a little mixed-media painting I did today with my Aunt who is in town. She does water color and must say, all of her work is beautiful. I tried my hardest to dabble in water color, but it just wasn’t working out as I had planned. I am a bit out of practice, but in any case, here is my debut piece. She taught me a lot of cool tricks today. I put the paint to paper and then used a black paint pen to fill in negative space.

I made a drawing of something similar in my art therapy session with my counselor, describing how I felt at rock bottom. Of course, it was much darker and more sinister than this. I decided to brighten the drawing up a bit to portray how I feel now about recovery. I call it Freedom.
