HEY, YOU…REDUX

I remember when you said “Hey, You” that morning in your sleeping bag.

The one where you set me up by the fire, cuddled me and we played tag.

You rested your head on your shoe and said good night…

Leaving me in the car alone to give up the lonely fight.

I came to you in the morning with news to tell.

You said, “Hey, You” and released me from my hell.

In an instant, I learned of mysteries unsolved…

In an instant, it was our hearts that morning that needed to be resolved.

You can try as you might.

But I will always love you…

and no, I will not let go…

and I WILL NOT GIVE UP THE FIGHT.
