What was your most challenging piece to write?

Just curious. I just finished up my millionth edit of my About Me page, and have to say it still is the most challenging piece so far. It’s not even where I want it yet. Many that I’ve come across over the years, blow my mind. I can write about the deepest parts of myself in a myriad of ways, yet when it comes to summarizing who I am and what this blog is about, I choke. Do you find that to be true for yourself, too?

In any case, here’s my latest attempt at skimming the surface of what I write and why:

It’s impossible to blog mental illness and recovery stories and not be an educator. I’m certain you hear all the time how something you wrote “opened someone’s eyes.”

For me, the harder the topic, the more painful the subject matter, the easier it is to write. The worse I feel, the faster and cleaner it comes out. So the hardest stuff for me to write is about when I’m feeling good.

Thank you, Jeff for your words and for sharing one of your pieces. I applaud you in saying it like it is! I look forward to reading more.

I tend to write about my manic or happier days and the details within with greater ease. My depression leaves me speechless.
